Tom Maher was the ever-faithful beating heart of the CBC CLass of 1958.

Tom generously spent the last years of his life almost entirely in the service of our Class of '58, our CBC Brotherhood. Tom was unique, studious, unconventional, generous, and among many other quality attributes, he was a totally loyal alumnus of CBCHS. Tom talked to anyone who would listen (even SLUH guys) about our Class members and history—about CBC's history and its significant impact on the St. Louis Region—about CBC's excellent educational benefits, consistent athletic prowess, and the St. Louis community-service-minded students and faculty who continue CBC's faith-based LaSallian traditions.

Tom was the loving father of Molly Maher, Monica (James) Karpel, and the late Maggie Maher; proud grandfather of Samuel and Sophie Culp, and Abby Karpel; dear brother of Maureen Maher Ford; dear uncle and cousin.
Tom established Wheels West Bicycle Shop, Ellisville, MO in 1973 and operated the business for 30 years. He was a proud graduate of CBC, and was a member of the CBC Alumni Hall of Fame.

We have established a Scholarship Fund in Tom's name. A Memorial Service was celebrated in the CBC Chapel July 2, 2019.

Jack Hoffmann passed away on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at the age of 78 after a 4-year battle with cancer. At his side were his best friend of 73 years, Frank Pellegrini, and his son Mike. His son Kurt and brother Dick were there within minutes and he was soon surrounded by family.

Jack was the son of Albert and Helene Hoffmann (Booth). Albert was one of 14 children, making Jack part of an extensive Hoffmann family with deep St. Louis roots. Jack was the 2nd eldest of 6 brothers: Tom, Tim, Dick, Greg (who passed away in 1988) and Albert Jr., the eldest, who passed away shortly after childbirth.

He is survived by his partner, Elaine Carter, his 3 children: Kristin, Kurt and Michael, and 5 grandchildren: Landon, Jaden, Parker, Kendall and Caleb.

Jack was a successful sales manager, rising to National and International Sales Manager positions at 3M Company over a 32-year career. He also held other sales management positions and founded his own company, Milestone Solutions. Jack was heavily involved in the St. Louis business community, as an Advisory Board Member for Commerce Bank for over 13 years, and working extensively with the Chesterfield Chamber of Commerce and its Leadership program.

Most of all Jack was known for being a kind, generous man with an extensive network of friends, from his St. Louis childhood, time at CBC high school and his active business and social life. He will be missed dearly by the large family and friends who knew him. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to Jack's GoFundMe account.

Col. Charles V. Nahlik, U. S. Army Reserve, fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, died on 26 August 2017 after a heroic battle with cancer.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years, Carole Gibbons Nahlik, of High Ridge, MO; loving daughters and sons-in-law: Mary and Robert Plumlee, Hermann, MO; Sandra and David Pollmann, Des Peres, MO; and Susan and Chris Muller, Omaha, NE; six beloved grandchildren: Amanda, Mary and Lauren Pollmann; and CJ, Will, and Katie Muller; and his brother and sister-in-law, Steven and Pat Nahlik, Fenton, MO. Charlie also had three nieces and a nephew, multiple cousins, and countless friends who will miss him sorely.

A graduate of Christian Brothers College High School and the United States Military Academy at West Point, Charlie spent decades serving his country.

He was an active-duty officer for 15 years, decorated for his service in Okinawa, Vietnam, and Germany as well as at multiple posts across the United States. His various duties included being an Air Defense Tactical Director, AG Company Commander, Battalion and Group Adjutant, District Senior Advisor in Vietnam, Battalion XO and S3, Headquarters Commandant, Readiness Group Administrative Advisor, special Project Offer in charge of High Altitude Leaflet Operations in Vietnam and Korea, and Project Offer for the Mobilization Preassignment Program.

He joined the Army Reserves and became a Federal civilian employee upon his return to the St. Louis area in 1978. He held multiple positions at the US Army Reserve Personnel Records Center until his retirement as deputy chief of its Operations Center in 1997. He retired from the Reserves in 1992.

Charlie felt honored to be a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. After his retirement, Charlie, the son of the late Della and Vic Nahlik of House Springs, MO, became a genealogy expert. He documented his family's Czech heritage, connected with relatives during travels to the Czech Republic, and co-authored/contributed to Jeferson County, Missouri, History & Families, a history of Jeferson County published in 2015. He served as President of the Jeferson County Genealogical Society and specialized in documenting gravesites in historic church cemeteries across Missouri.

Charlie's greatest joys were his wife, children, and grandchildren. Each of them will forever cherish the memory of his smiling face and the legacy of love and caring he left them.

Charlie loved life and relished making people laugh. Whether on a ski trip, receiving an infusion at the Pratt Center at Mercy Hospital, or rehearsing at a West Point Glee Club Reunion, Charlie always had some prank up his sleeve. Family members, friends, and classmates often swapped tales of the goodnatured practical jokes he played on them. The best testimony to Charlie's likeability is the neighborhood children knocking on his door asking if he could come out to play.

Services: Charlies family, who loved him beyond measure, will be receiving friends at Bopp Chapel, 10610 Manchester Rd., Kirkwood, MO 63122 on Wednesday, 30 August, from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 17 Ann Avenue, Valley Park, MO 63088 at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, 31 August, followed by interment at Jeferson Barracks National Cemetery, 2900 Sheridan Rd., St. Louis, MO 63125. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donating to the Gary Siamese Foundation ( www.garysinisefoundation.org), which is dedicated to honoring our defenders, veterans, frost responders, their families, and those in need; or to the CBC class of '58 Scholarship Fund.

Richard Joseph House, 77, Marthasville, MO passed peacefully into eternal rest Tuesday, June 20, 2017, in Washington, MO.

Richard was born Aug. 28, 1939, in St. Louis. One of three children, he was the son of the late Ernest House and wife Julia, nee Aubuchon. Richard spent his childhood years in Hazelwood, and the family moved to Marthasville when he was in sixth grade. He attended Christian Brothers College High School in St. Louis.

Richard was united in holy matrimony to Nancy Steinmeier Dec. 15, 1973, at Nelson Presbyterian Church, in St. Louis. The family made their home in Dutzow. Richard was employed as a tooling manager at McDonnell Douglas Aircraft in St. Louis, and he retired after 37 years of faithful service to the company. Richard was a member of the Washington Boat Club, and he enjoyed several hobbies, including fishing.

Richard is survived by his wife, Nancy House; three daughters, Lorna House, Renee Shetley and husband Jeff, all of Washington, and Alicia House, Gerald, and boyfriend Danny Schroeder; six grandchildren, Adam and Jarod House, Nicole Wener, Brian O'Shea, Michael and Alexandra Wiltfong; four great-grandchildren, Phoenix, Aurora and Ariel Wiltfong and R.J. Stewart; one brother-in-law, Raymond Klutenkamper, St. Peters; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Angela House; his parents; and two sisters, Shirley Klutenkamper and Vera Brown.

Funeral services were held Friday, June 23, at 7 p.m. at Oltmann Funeral Home, Washington.

Memorials may be made in honor of Richard to the Almost Home Animal Rescue and Rehab or the American Cancer Society.

David R Paridy, who worked for several automotive and heavy-duty aftermarket suppliers during his career, has died. He was 76.

Paridy was born in St. Louis on Oct. 24, 1940. He had a long career in the parts business beginning in aftermarket sales for Purolator Products, Inc., the manufacturer of automotive filters. Later assignments at Purolator included director of International Sales in London, England, and vice president of Marketing and then President of Purolator Products Ltd in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. He moved to Stant Corporation a subsidiary of Purolator as president and in 1987 led a management group and Bessemer Securities in purchasing Stant. In 1993, he then led Stant in a successful Initial Public Offering of its stock.

Paridy retired from Stant in 1997 after it was purchased by Tomkins/Gates. He then formed The Paridy Group with some of his Stant associates to consult for several automotive parts companies involved in acquisitions and dispositions. For many years David served on the Board of Directors for MAHLE, Inc.

Paridy lived in many places during his career including Kansas City, Mississauga, Ontario and Holmdel, N.J. but he settled into Richmond, Ind., where he became involved in the community including the local county club and hospital board of directors. After his second retirement, he settled into Ocean Reef, Key Largo, Fla., and Niagara-On-The-Lake, Ontario, Canada.

While he certainly was a salesman at heart, Paridy enjoyed architecture and worked on many projects including the design of homes for his friends.

Les was born Feb. 20, 1940 in St. Louis, MO to Leslie P. and Florence H. Boll.

He attended Christian Brothers College High School and received his BS and MS degrees in Corporate Finance from St. Louis University.

Les was a professor of corporate finance at Southern Illinois University and Westminster University.

He spent the majority of his career in International Banking. He worked for Mercantile Bank and CitiBank in St. Louis, MO, finishing his career as Vice President and manager in the International Banking Dept. at Commerce Bank in Kansas City.

Les was a member of multiple trade organizations including, Treasurer President-Mid America Committee on International Banking (MACIB); Member President—National Association of Committees on International Banking (NACIB); Treasurer, Board Member, Chairman—Saint Louis International Trade Club (800 member trade association); Member, American Bankers Association, International Committee; Appointed by US Secretary of Commerce, member Missouri District Export Council; Recipient of US Secretary of Commerce's International Leadership Award; Treasurer, board Member, President—International Trade Council of Greater Kansas City (400 member trade association); Appointed by Kansas Governor, confirmed by Senate to membership—Kansas International Loan Guarantee Board; Awarded the "E" Award for Commerce Bank International Department by the President in the Rose Garden. Les was also appointed by US Secretary of Commerce, member and former chairman, MidAmerica District Export Council; and member Kansas Governors Selection Committee, Kansas Exporter of the Year Award.

Les was an active member of his church and also served on the Archbishop's Pastoral Council. Les is survived by his wife of 50 years, Joanne Boll; daughter, Julie (Jon Steinhauer) Boll, Two Harbors, MN and son, Leslie Michael Boll, Houston, TX.

George was born September 1, 1940 in Evansville, Indiana to the late Francis "Pete" and Rosalie Giltinan. He is survived by three daughters, Cherie Hill, Erin Hill and Meghann Sherp, five grandchildren, Jason Hill, Valerie Hill, Gillian Sherp, Savannah Sherp and Maura Hill, and two sisters, Ellen Elder and Celia Giltinan-Kneip.

George graduated from Christian Brothers College High School in 1958, attended and graduated from the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland in 1965 with a Bachelors in Science. He then served with the United States Navy until 1971, as a pilot during the Vietnam War. George went on to be an engineer and received his Masters in Business from Maryville University.

George will be laid to rest at Jefferson Barracks Cemetery with full military honors. Friends, family and colleagues are welcome to attend the military service at Jefferson Barracks on Monday, October 5th, at 1:00 PM. Those attending are asked to arrive at 12:45 PM and to please park behind the Administration building at the entrance of the cemetery where you can meet his family in preparation for the formal service.

Gerald J. Benoist, of Moberly, Missouri, died on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at the age of 71.

Dear son of the late Melvin and Mary Benoist; devoted father of Beth (Craig) Lyons, John Benoist, Laura (Patrick) Timmerman and Phillip (Ashley) Benoist; beloved grandfather of Amber, Casie and Jacob Lyons, Courtney, Noah and Bryce Timmerman and Quinn and Zane Benoist; dear brother of Donald (Marie) Benoist, Delores (Duff) Moehlman, Melvin (Mary) Benoist, Jr.; and the late Joan Pratt.

Francis J. Martin, of St. Charles, Missouri, died on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at the age of 71.

Glenn Allen Neiner was born in Ft. Scott, KS, on May 2, 1941. Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church entered into eternal life on March 14, 2009 in Westminister, CO.

Beloved son of Celeste Neiner and the late Andrew Neiner; dear brother of the late Jerry Neiner, Charlie (Shelley) Neiner, of Exton, PA; Ray (Donna) Neiner, of Alpharetta, GA; and Joe (Linda) Neiner of Chesterfield, MO; loving uncle to 12, grand uncle to 11 and cousin.

Glenn was a PHD graduate of the University of Wisconsin, received his masters degrees from St. Mary's College and CBC College.

Glenn spent the majority of his life as a teacher and administrator. He was principal at Bishop Gallagher High School in Detroit, MI. He moved to Colorado and worked in the Longmont Post Office. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Elks USA Lakewood, CO, Lodge #1777.

Glenn loved traveling, the mountains and the arts. Glenn will be missed greatly by his family and multitude of friends. Services:
